Are you an experienced SHEQ professional looking for a structured, hands-on role within a hazardous chemicals industry environment? This role is ideal for someone with a solid grounding in health and safety who wants to step into a high-hazard environment and gain valuable experience across safety, environmental and quality systems.

This is a 1-year fixed term contract opportunity based on site in Rye, supporting operational teams across health, safety, environmental and quality (SHEQ) activities. You will play a key role in maintaining safe operations, robust management systems, and strong regulatory compliance.

The Role

  • You will support the site leadership team with day-to-day Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality (SHEQ) activities, helping ensure safe and compliant operations.
  • Supporting risk assessments, hazard identification and safe systems of work.
  • Assisting with contractor safety and site inductions.
  • Supporting incident and near-miss investigations.
  • Helping monitor H&S and environmental performance.
  • Supporting audits, inspections and ISO-based management systems.

About You

  • Background in health & safety or SHEQ within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Good understanding of core H&S principles (risk assessment, incident investigation, compliance).
  • NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent experience.
  • Proactive and keen to learn.
  • High-hazard or COMAH experience is not essential; this role offers hands-on exposure and development.
