My client is one of the UKs leading independent waste management companies, providing collection, recycling, and energy recovery. They are looking for a proactive and experienced Site Operations Manager to lead their Transfer Station Operations. This role is central to ensuring the safety, efficiency, and performance of the site while delivering excellent customer service and fostering a strong team culture.

The ideal candidate will have plant and machinery experience, the ability to run the site, have IOSH, a track record of working to KPIs, and delivering continuous improvement.

Role:
  • Ensure Health & Safety is always the top priority
  • Lead, manage, and develop a high-performing operations team
  • Ensure compliance with site rules and environmental standards
  • Monitor waste segregation and extraction targets
  • Maintain and manage site equipment and infrastructure
  • Foster a customer-focused, multi-skilled, flexible workforce
  • Drive continuous improvement through performance review and process optimisation
  • Report on productivity and collaborate across departments
Ideal Candidate:
  • Leadership, teamwork, customer focus, critical thinking and ideally a proven background in waste management/treatment or similar industry
  • Commercial awareness, good IT skills, and attention to detail
  • Proven experience in waste processing, recycling, or a related industry
  • Strong leadership and people management skills
  • Sound IT and reporting abilities
  • IOSH/NEBOSH holder (or willing to work towards qualification)
  • WAMITAB Level 4 Certificate of Technical Competence (COTC), or environmental/waste experience is desirable.
