My client is seeking an experienced Interim Project Manager to support a critical transformation programme within its Street Cleansing service.
This is a hands-on, operationally focused role, not a traditional PM position. You will be embedded within frontline services, delivering real change that will directly shape how the service operates for years to come. The role sits at the heart of a transformation programme, driving improvements across workforce structure, service delivery, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities- You will take ownership of a portfolio of operational transformation projects within the Street Cleansing function, including reviewing and redesigning management structures, supporting recruitment activity, leading procurement exercises, coordinating service delivery for key events, analysing operational data to inform decision-making, and shaping learning and development approaches for frontline teams.
- You will work closely with operational staff to ensure changes are practical, deliverable, and embedded effectively.
- This role requires a strong operational leadership background.
- Proven operational leadership experience in Street Cleansing or Waste services or similar operational environment.
- Experience working closely with frontline teams in a service delivery environment.
- A track record of delivering operational transformation or service improvement initiatives.
- Strong understanding of the pressures and challenges within environmental services.
- Strong consulting / transformation skillset.
- Ability to quickly adapt, influence and embed within operational teams.
- A “roll your sleeves up” approach, this is not an advisory-only role.
- Highly organised, able to manage multiple workstreams to tight deadlines.
