We are looking for an experienced Head of Business Development to lead and grow our direct uniform contract strategy across the UK. If you have experience with a business that runs a large number of SKUs, have experience in Education and Local Authorities this would be an advantage.
This is a senior commercial role for a results-driven sales leader with strong experience in B2B sales, tender management, strategic account development and team leadership. You will be responsible for building a high-performing business development function, identifying new opportunities, winning contracts and driving long-term revenue growth. You will also oversee the commercial performance of our retail estate, ensuring stores are aligned with customer needs, trading plans and wider growth objectives.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and deliver a national business development strategy for uniform contracts.
- Identify and prioritise key target organisations, groups and procurement opportunities.
- Lead new business activity from prospecting through to contract signature and handover.
- Build a strong sales pipeline with clear KPIs, milestones and revenue targets.
- Create tailored proposals, tender submissions and commercial presentations.
- Build long-term relationships with senior decision makers and procurement teams.
- Oversee onboarding, account management and contract retention.
- Lead, coach and develop a business development team.
- Work closely with marketing, operations, finance, customer service and merchandise teams.
- Oversee the commercial performance of 8 retail stores across the West Midlands.
You will be a confident commercial leader with a proven background in business development or sales leadership. You will be strategic, hands-on and comfortable building relationships at senior level.
Essential Experience- Senior business development or sales leadership experience.
- Experience winning and managing B2B contracts.
- Strong tender and proposal management experience.
- Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills.
- Strong commercial awareness and ability to use data to drive decisions.
- Experience managing and developing sales teams.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel nationally.
- Experience in uniforms, retail, manufacturing or product-led businesses.
- Knowledge of structured procurement processes.
- Existing network within relevant contract-led sectors.
