Are you an experienced SHEQ professional looking for a structured, hands-on role within a hazardous chemicals industry environment? This role is ideal for someone with a solid grounding in health and safety who wants to step into a high-hazard environment and gain valuable experience across safety, environmental and quality systems. This is a 1-year fixed term contract opportunity based on site in Rye, supporting operational teams across health, safety, environmental and quality (SHEQ) activities. You will play a key role in maintaining safe operations, robust management systems, and strong regulatory compliance.
The Role
- Supporting risk assessments, hazard identification and safe systems of work
- Assisting with contractor safety and site inductions
- Supporting incident and near-miss investigations
- Helping monitor H&S and environmental performance
- Supporting audits, inspections and ISO-based management systems
About You
- Background in health & safety or SHEQ within an industrial or manufacturing environment
- Good understanding of core H&S principles (risk assessment, incident investigation, compliance)
- NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent experience
- Proactive and keen to learn
- High-hazard or COMAH experience is not essential — this role offers hands-on exposure and development
