About the Role
My client is looking for an experienced Transport Planner who has ambition to take the next step up to Management in time. This is a key position ensuring their fleet operations run smoothly, efficiently and in full compliance with UK transport regulations.
You will be the link between our drivers, operations, fleet and customer service — keeping everything moving while maintaining the highest standards of safety, compliance, and customer service.
Role:
- Maximise transport planning efficiencies across the fleet
- Maximise vehicle utilisation for the customer base to make the fleet as efficient as possible
- Close liaison with the Customer service team to ensure that customers know delivery information and times, and that any special instructions are passed onto the transport team.
- Resolve problems relating to transport planning issues to minimise disruption to customers, providing alternative solutions to ensure the customer is retained.
- Manage projects to improve efficiency and automation of paperwork handling and routing optimisation.
- Attend service and routing reviews to provide planning KPI analysis ensuring optimal utilisation at minimal cost, whilst maintaining excellent levels of customer service and KPI adherence.
Ideal Candidate:
- Strong organisational and coordination skills, with the ability to juggle multiple priorities.
- Experience in transport planning
- IT skills, including Excel.
- Excellent communicator, confident working under pressure.
