DM Recruitment are currently looking for a Transport Clerk for a fantastic client in Welshpool.

Days: Monday-Friday

Hours: 7:00am-4:00pm

Pay: £15ph negotiable depending on experience

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the transport distribution flow on a daily basis via route planning, always using the most cost effective means available.
  • Ensure Drivers Hours regulations are complied with and documented, download tacho information and vehicle cards.
  • Ensure that all process and facilities comply with legal requirements for Health and Safety and other legislation.
  • Manage the manpower resources within targets to ensure correct levels are maintained to achieve the daily tasks of the department, agreeing any additional requirements with the logistics manager.
  • Maintain the engineering requirements of the fleet, including MOT and servicing.
  • Manage the collection of raw materials & packaging from suppliers.
  • Ensure vehicles are fully maximised on both outward and inbound journeys.
  • Ensure orders are printed, sort into predetermined area routes in conjunction with the logistics managers.
  • Maintain driver rota.
  • Book in deliveries.
  • Keep phone log up to date.
  • Book in collection from suppliers, communicate collection details to driver.
  • Arrange any product collections from customers.
  • Ensure that deliveries are made accurately and on time, make the decision about how long drivers wait at a customers.
