Opus Vitae are recruiting for a fantastic client, with a business in the group searching for a Design Engineer to join a fantastic team. The business are needing skilled Design Engineers to help with customer-led design projects from concept to manufacture. The design engineer will work closely with customers, sales, toolroom, production & planning teams to ensure customer requirements are fully understood & successfully delivered.
Monday - Friday, covering 40 hours a week day shifts.
The Role & Main Responsibilities
- Management of customer-led design projects from initial enquiry through to first-off manufacture.
- Design new products & modify existing designs to meet customer requirements.
- Identify new materials, processes, or manufacturing techniques to improve quality, reduce cost & enhance performance.
- Ensure all designs are suitable for manufacturing within agreed timescales & production capabilities.
- Build prototypes & support product testing to ensure designs are fit for purpose.
- Design innovative new product solutions identified through customer enquiries, sales or management initiatives.
- Produce high-quality technical drawings in accordance with BS 8888 standards.
- Create & maintain accurate manufacturing BOM's using Epicor or Excel.
- Work in accordance with ISO 9001 QM Systems.
- Travel to Customer Sites (Primarily mainland Europe) for design reviews, installations or issue resolution.
