At Panda, we are looking for a Fixed Plant Fitter to help keep our waste management facility running safely and efficiently. As a Fixed Plant Fitter, you will play an important role in maintaining, repairing and servicing the fixed plant and machinery that keeps our site moving. This includes equipment such as conveyors, shredders and other plant machinery used within a busy waste management environment. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on engineering work, solving problems and being part of a team that supports safe, reliable and sustainable operations.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance on fixed plant machinery and equipment.
- Inspecting, servicing and repairing machinery such as conveyors, shredders and associated plant systems.
- Diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs, replacements or adjustments to minimise downtime.
- Supporting preventative maintenance activity to improve reliability and reduce breakdowns.
- Ensuring all maintenance work is completed safely and in line with site procedures.
- Maintaining accurate records of inspections, repairs, parts used and maintenance activity.
- Working closely with the wider maintenance, engineering and operations teams to resolve issues.
- Identifying opportunities to improve plant performance, safety and efficiency.
- Supporting a clean, safe and compliant working environment.
About You
- Experience working in plant maintenance, mechanical maintenance, engineering or a similar hands-on role.
- Knowledge of fixed plant machinery, conveyor systems, shredders or industrial equipment would be beneficial.
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
- A practical, hands-on approach with a willingness to learn.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team.
- A strong commitment to health, safety and environmental standards.
- Relevant qualifications in plant maintenance, mechanical engineering or a related discipline would be advantageous.
