Primary Responsibilities:
- Patrol school grounds, buildings, parking lots, and perimeters to deter and detect unauthorized or suspicious activity.
- Monitor security systems, alarms, and surveillance cameras to ensure campus safety.
- Control access to school facilities by verifying identification of visitors, contractors, and staff.
- Respond promptly and effectively to emergencies, alarms, disturbances, medical incidents, and threats.
- Enforce school policies, rules, and regulations fairly and consistently.
- Provide a visible, approachable, and professional security presence to deter violence or disruptions.
- Assist in crisis management, lockdowns, evacuations, and other emergency drills or procedures.
- Build positive relationships with students and staff to promote trust and open communication.
- Complete detailed and accurate incident and daily activity reports.
- Liaise with local law enforcement and emergency responders when needed.
- Attend all required training, including de-escalation, child interaction, and crisis intervention techniques.
Position Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior security, law enforcement, or military experience preferred, especially in educational settings.
- Excellent communication, observation, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in stressful situations.
- Understanding of child/adolescent behavior and a commitment to building rapport with students.
- Ability to pass background checks, drug screening, and any required psychological evaluations.
- Physically capable of standing or walking for extended periods and responding quickly to emergencies.
- Flexible availability, including mornings, afternoons, evenings, and special events as needed.
