Agricom is an industry leader in the research, development and marketing of a wide range of proprietary pasture and forage crop seeds to the agricultural industry. Our core business is investing in the research and development of forage options, and in the advancement of endophyte technology to increase profits returned back to farmers.
We’re on the hunt for a passionate Extension Agronomist to join our team with the flexibility to be based in either Lincoln, Canterbury, or Palmerston North, Manawatu. In this role you will continue to develop practical agronomy skills across a range of pasture and crop species. You will be a part of the Agricom Agronomy team, also working closely with the local Territory Sales Managers, Product Development and Technical Specialists to support the agronomy program in the region.
We’re looking for a motivated self-starter with strong time management, planning abilities, and attention to detail. You’ll need to be comfortable working both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, research-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities For This Role Includes:
- Planning, implementation and reporting of forage trials throughout the Upper South Island region
- Provide key customers and influencers with technical information
- Develop and maintain local demonstrations and conduct forage research trial sites
- Reporting of supported statistical analysis of agronomy data
- Contribute into the Research & Development and breeding programmes
- Developing practical and farm management programmes for new and existing products
- Marketing activities to produce quality market useful documents from the trial and agronomy resources
You’ll need:
- A degree in an agricultural related discipline or relevant experience
- Sound knowledge of, and a genuine interest in agronomy
- An understanding of farm systems in New Zealand and how our products can add value
