DLA Piper’s Global Scholarships Programme is for talented students who are studying Law or have completed a Law degree and are undertaking a Masters course in their home country. This two year Scholarship includes payment of tuition fees (in home countries), mentoring, internships, online and in person learning and development opportunities and the chance to build peer and professional networks.
The DLA Piper Global Scholarship gives students an insight into the legal profession and the experience and skills needed to be successful lawyers and leaders. We encourage applications from students from all backgrounds, including students from minority ethnic groups, students from lower socioeconomic backgrounds and those that might have faced other barriers to education.
DLA Piper is a global business law firm with lawyers in Africa, the Americas, Asia Pacific, Europe and the Middle East, positioning us to help companies with their legal needs around the world. Our strategy is simple – to support the legal needs of our clients wherever they do business.
To be eligible for the scholarship, you must:
- Be studying law, and in your last to second last year of study in your home country, or
- Have completed a Law degree and have been accepted to pursue a Master’s Degree in a related field in your home country
- Currently be achieving, or be expected to achieve a first-class degree, or be in the top 10% of your class
- Receive a recommendation from your university
- Be a citizen of the country you are applying from
- Have a good level of spoken and written English as this will ensure you are able to fully participate in the programme
Please note, as part of your application you will need to upload the following documents (as a Microsoft word document or PDF) to support your application:
- Your university academic transcript (evidence of the grades you have achieved at university).
- A letter of recommendation from your university (from one of your teachers, Heads of Department of Dean of the Law School).
You will also need to send us a video of yourself, not exceeding 2 minutes, telling us about yourself and why you chose to study law.
