Responsibilities:

  • Performs complex technical assignments relative to inventory accountability and storage management.
  • Coordinates technical matters with appropriate organizational elements.
  • Conducts in-depth inventories, denials, letter of investigations, inventory balance and location discrepancies relevant to receipt, shipment, and storage transactions.
  • Oversee the Supply Discrepancy Reports (SDR), surveillance, ID stock and causative research process.
  • Ensure established work standards are met and distribute and balance the workload among workers.
  • Provides research and program support for all screening actions.
  • Performs and researches Inventory Adjustment Vouchers (IAVs).

Requirements:

  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Tour of Duty: Set Schedule.
  • Security Requirements: Non-Critical Sensitive with Secret Access.
  • Appointment is subject to the completion of a favorable suitability or fitness determination; unfavorably adjudicated background checks will be grounds for removal.
  • Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA): Non-Exempt.
  • Selective Service Requirement: Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered or exempt from Selective Service.

  • Bargaining Unit Status: Yes.
  • Pre-Employment Physical: Required.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain licenses and/or certifications required by the installation, federal, state, and local laws.

Qualifications:

  • To qualify for a Supply Technician, your resume and supporting documentation must support:
  • Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position.
  • Creditable specialized experience includes conducting physical inventories and location surveys, investigating stock/record/material discrepancies impacting inventory balances or Supply Discrepancy Reports (SDRs), and preparing reports concerning results of investigations performed.

Physical Demands:

  • Work is performed in office settings and warehouses.
  • Work requires standing on hard surfaces maintaining balance for extended periods of time.
  • Requires bending, stooping, reaching and twisting in tiring and uncomfortable positions.
  • Frequently lifts and carries items weighing up to 40 pounds.
  • Heavier items may lift greater weights with assistance from others or using materials handling equipment.
  • Must be capable of accomplishing emergency escape procedures from a captive aisle stock selector at heights of 40 feet.

Work Environment:

  • The work environment involves moderate risks or discomforts that require special safety precautions such as working around moving parts, carts, or machines; exposure to adverse weather conditions; or exposure to irritant chemicals.
  • Employees may be required to use protective clothing or gear, such as masks, coats, safety shoes, goggles, hearing protection and/or gloves.

Education:

  • Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
  • You MUST provide transcripts or other documentation to support your educational claims.
  • Graduate education may be credited in those few instances where the graduate education is directly related to the work of the position.
