Responsibilities:

• Performs in-depth research and causative analysis when discrepancies are identified as a result of physical inventories, warehouse refusals, Reports of Survey or customer complaints.
• Determines the cause of record imbalances through collection, analysis, and evaluation of factors contributing to the inventory adjustment.
• Initiates and makes corrective actions to synchronize the depot record with the physical inventory balance.
• Generates the Financial Liability Investigation of Property Loss (FLIPL) Report in accordance with agency policy and procedures as appointed in writing by the proper authority.
• Develops recommendations for new procedures which correct or prevent errors.
• Gathers data from automated systems to analyze trends of recurring discrepancies.
• Conducts operational and systemic studies to causes contributing to physical inventory and location inaccuracies and validates data compiled using various ADP systems to resolve record accuracy problems.
• Identifies and initiates new procedures to reduce inventory record error rate, streamline inventory processes, and comply with agency guidance.
• Arranges special inventories to reconcile accountable records.
• Plans, develops schedules for and conducts inventories.
• May operate material handling equipment such as forklifts and stock selectors to locate and move materials.
• May lead lower graded technicians performing inventory functions.

Requirements:

• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Tour of Duty: Set Schedule.
• Security Requirements: Non-Critical Sensitive with Secret Access.
• Appointment is subject to the completion of a favorable suitability or fitness determination; unfavorably adjudicated background checks will be grounds for removal.
• Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA): Non-Exempt.
• Selective Service Requirement: Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered or exempt from Selective Service.

Qualifications:

• Education: To qualify at the GS-09 level based on education in lieu of specialized experience, applicants must possess a master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LLB. or J.D., if related.
• Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled.
• Combination: Combinations of successfully completed post-high school education and experience may be used to meet total qualification requirements for the GS-09 grade level.

• Physical Demands: The work requires the incumbent to physically walk and work in warehouse areas to conduct physical searches, conduct research, to train and to test system processes and changes.
