DKUK is a creative hair salon in Peckham with a loyal client community and a calm, thoughtful approach to hairdressing. We have rotating art exhibitions that we show to our clients while they are getting their hair done. We are looking for a hardworking Salon Assistant to support the team and help keep the salon running smoothly. This is a practical role where you will learn how a professional salon operates day to day. Some assistants go on to train as hairdressers, while others move into reception or management roles. What matters most is that you are reliable, observant, and willing to work hard.

Role Details
- Location: DKUK, 191 Queens Road, Peckham SE15 2NG
- Start Date: 22 April 2026
- Salary: National Minimum Wage to start, with opportunity to increase to Living Wage as skills and responsibilities grow.
- Hours: 39 hours per week
- Holiday: 5.6 weeks paid holiday
Rota
- Monday: 2:00pm – 8:00pm
- Wednesday: 12:00pm – 8:00pm
- Thursday: 2:00pm – 8:00pm
- Friday: 9:00am – 8:15pm
- Saturday: 8:30am – 6:15pm

What You’ll Do:
- Support stylists during services
- Wash clients’ hair and assist with service preparation
- Keep the salon clean, organised and running smoothly
- Reset stations between clients
- Help manage reception and bookings once trained
- Offer drinks and make clients feel welcome
- Close the salon on certain days following our systems
- Capture simple photos or videos for social media
- Use Canva and simple editing tools within our existing system
