Technical Sales Manager – Low Carbon Heating Solutions Hybrid – South West / National Travel £60000 – £80,000 + Bonus + Benefits Sector: Renewable Energy / HVAC / Ground Source Heat Pumps A fast-growing innovator in the low-carbon energy sector is seeking a Technical Sales Manager to support the delivery of high-performance heat pump projects in the non-domestic market. This is a pivotal role within a purpose-driven, mission-led organisation at the forefront of sustainable heating solutions. The Opportunity You will act as the technical lead in the pre-contract stage of complex renewable energy projects — with an initial focus on schools and public-sector estates, expanding into listed buildings, leisure centres, and commercial properties. Working in close partnership with business development and delivery teams, you’ll assess project feasibility, lead tender responses, and ensure that proposed solutions are technically robust, commercially sound, and operationally deliverable. Key Responsibilities * Act as technical expert during client engagement and pre-sales meetings. * Own the pre-contract process, ensuring design feasibility, compliance, and commercial viability. * Lead tender submissions and develop compelling technical responses. * Conduct due diligence on system designs and work closely with supply chain and operations teams. * Support sales and estimating with technical training, solution design, and regulatory insights. * Collaborate with stakeholders to balance cost, risk, and deliverability. What We\'re Looking For * Strong background in heat pumps, HVAC, or low-carbon technologies (essential). * Proven experience supporting technical sales or pre-construction processes. * Ability to lead tendering and bid submissions for complex projects. * Understanding of public-sector procurement (e.g. PSDS, compliance, education sector). * Commercially savvy with excellent communication skills. * Comfortable translating complex engineering concepts into business value.
