Job Overview
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Structural Design Engineer to join our dynamic technical team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in structural design, with a focus on supporting mechanical and electrical (M&E) systems. This role involves the use of industry-standard design and modelling software, technical analysis of structural components, and collaboration across departments to deliver high-quality, efficient solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all structural engineering aspects for M&E-related enquiries.
- Review and interpret customers technical specifications and design requirements.
- Develop structural models using CAD software, Revit, AutoCAD, and RSTAB.
- Draft technical drawings for both conceptual and construction stages.
- Model M&E support structures using 3D plant and BIM software.
- Perform structural calculations and develop modular steelwork designs.
- Prepare accurate material take-offs for internal workshop and procurement teams.
- Conduct site visits to assess progress, verify installation, and resolve design challenges.
- Manage project timelines, workload planning, and ensure quality assurance.
- Support colleagues through training and technical guidance.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of internal product libraries and relevant software plugins.
- Adapt design approaches to meet the standards and expectations of diverse industries.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve project objectives and client satisfaction.
Required Experience & Qualifications
- Degree in Structural, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering (or related discipline).
- Proficiency in structural design software including AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, and RSTAB.
- Strong understanding of modular steel structures and bolted connection detailing.
- Previous experience with BIM modelling in multi-disciplinary environments.
- Familiarity with mechanical and electrical building systems.
- Sound knowledge of structural codes, standards, and best practices.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.
- Strong organisational and time management skills with a focus on detail and accuracy.
