DK Recruitment are working with a world-renowned, precision Engineering business based in Plymouth who are recruiting for several Production Shift Leaders. The business has a strong culture of innovation, professional growth and are offering an exciting career journey.

The Production Shift Leader role will be to lead and oversee all production activities on the production shop floor during your assigned shift to ensure a safe, efficient and productive working environment. You will act as the first point of contact for all employees, consistently promoting a culture of safety and accountability. As the Production Shift Leader, you will be supporting and managing key aspects of production, including but not limited to; Health & Safety, work in progress, scrap control and coordination of support functions. Working as part of a team, you will work alongside the resourcing team and the Value Stream Leaders to ensure effective shift handovers and updates on production performance, equipment issues and any other issues.

Main Duties:

  • Ensure all Health & Safety policies and procedures are adhered to at all times.
  • Support resourcing with absence management as required.
  • Support with unforeseen issues that may happen on shift.
  • KPI Management – Including scrap & WIP.
  • Maintain and improve on 5S activities.
  • Support with organisation of any training required for staff members.
  • Communicate effectively to support staff on the shop floor.
  • Use SAP system to report and update on a daily basis.
  • Liaise with other departments as required.
  • Support HR with employee enquiries.

Skills:

  • Previous experience as a Production Team leader.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal & written.
  • Problem solving skills.
  • Ability to manage staff, influence and support – People management.
  • Analytical skills.
  • IT skills (SAP experience ideally).

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of Grade 4 GCSE or equivalent in Maths & English.
  • Ideally a Team leading qualification (desirable).
  • First Aid trained (desirable).
  • Trained Fire Marshall (desirable).
  • Trained Spill control (desirable).
  • Rotating Shifts – Monday to Friday.
