We're seeking multiple Mechanical Engineers to support a long-term programme of works within Devonport Dockyard, Plymouth. This is a permanent position offering long-term stability, with work secured through 2031 and beyond across multiple Dockyard contracts.
The role will involve providing technical and engineering support across mechanical building services and infrastructure works within a secure, highly regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide mechanical engineering support across Dockyard projects from planning through delivery
- Review mechanical designs, drawings and specifications for compliance and buildability
- Support site teams with technical queries, inspections and quality assurance
- Coordinate with project managers, supervisors and subcontractors
- Ensure mechanical works are delivered in line with programme, specifications and standards
- Assist with commissioning, testing and handover of mechanical systems
- Ensure compliance with health & safety, statutory regulations and Dockyard requirements
- Liaise with client representatives, consultants and stakeholders as required
Requirements
- Mechanical Engineering background with relevant qualifications (HNC / HND / Degree or equivalent)
- Experience delivering mechanical works on industrial, commercial or infrastructure projects
- Knowledge of mechanical building services and relevant standards
- Comfortable working within secure or regulated environments
- Strong communication and coordination skills
- Ability to work on-site in Plymouth
- Security clearance, or the ability to obtain it - Required
