We are partnering with a premier, rapidly growing engineering specialist operating from a brand-new, purpose-built facility in Cornwall. Known for their heavy investment in cutting-edge technology and a clean, modern working environment, they pride themselves on delivering high-precision components to diverse industries. This is an exceptional opportunity for skilled machinists looking to advance their careers in a forward-thinking company that genuinely respects work-life balance.
The Role
We are seeking versatile, skilled CNC Machinists with strong backgrounds in either CNC Milling, CNC Turning, or both to join a highly professional production team. Whether your expertise lies in 3/4/5-axis milling or multi-axis turning (including fixed-head and sliding-head), you will take ownership of the manufacturing process from start to finish. You will be responsible for ensuring high-quality output on complex components, working alongside a supportive team of like-minded engineers.
Key Responsibilities
- Programme, Set, and Operate: Efficiently manage CNC Milling Centres or CNC Lathes to manufacture precision components, minimising setup times and maximising throughput.
- Online/Offline Programming: Interpret technical engineering drawings to create, modify, and optimise machining programmes.
- Quality Assurance: Self-inspect your own work using advanced metrology equipment and techniques to maintain strict tolerance standards.
- Process Optimisation: Actively identify and propose workflow improvements, tooling upgrades, and cycle-time reductions.
- Workshop Standards: Maintain a safe, clean, and organised workspace in line with modern 5S and lean manufacturing principles.
What We Are Looking For
- Proven CNC Expertise: Solid experience in programming, setting, and operating CNC machines, with a core focus on either CNC Milling or CNC Turning.
- Control System Adaptability: Experience with any major control system (e.g., Fanuc, Siemens, Heidenhain, Mazatrol, or Haas). If you have the fundamental machining logic, our client will support your transition to their specific systems.
- Technical Literacy: Full proficiency in reading and interpreting complex engineering drawings. Familiarity with CAD/CAM software is highly advantageous.
- Specialist Exposure: Prior experience with multi-axis machining or CNC Sliding-Head machines is a major plus but not mandatory.
- Professional Attitude: A detail-oriented team player with the autonomy to work unsupervised and a drive for continuous improvement.
What’s on Offer?
- Competitive salary package with room for negotiation based on technical merit.
- A genuinely modern, clean, and positive working environment with brand-new machinery.
