Our client, a national maintenance contractor, is recruiting for an experienced Regional Head of SHEQ to lead the development and delivery of Health, Safety, Environment and Quality strategy across a multi-site construction and maintenance operation. This is a senior leadership role responsible for driving a strong safety culture, maintaining compliance across ISO standards, and ensuring best in class performance across operational teams, subcontractors, and client environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and deliver the regional SHEQ strategy aligned with business objectives
- Own and maintain Integrated Management Systems (ISO 45001, ISO 14001, ISO 9001)
- Drive behavioural safety culture, engagement, and continuous improvement
- Ensure compliance with UK H&S and environmental legislation (including CDM 2015)
- Oversee audits, inspections, incident investigations, and corrective actions
- Manage SHEQ performance reporting, KPIs, and management reviews
- Support operational teams with risk management across live sites and reactive works
- Lead training, competency frameworks, inductions, and subcontractor compliance
- Act as key interface for clients, regulators, and external auditors
- Drive environmental performance, including waste, carbon, and sustainability initiatives
About You
- NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent) essential
- Proven senior SHEQ leadership experience in construction or maintenance environments
- Strong track record managing ISO 45001, 14001, and 9001 systems
- Deep knowledge of CDM Regulations and construction risk environments
- Experience leading audits, investigations, and compliance programmes
- Strong stakeholder management skills across operational and client teams
- Background in multi-site, fast-paced, reactive or planned maintenance operations
