Outbound Supervisor – Operational Leader

The Role

We are looking for a strong, driven Outbound Supervisor who can take ownership of the day-to-day outbound operation and make sure things happen.

This is not a role for someone who simply watches the operation and reports problems.

We need a hands-on leader who can organise people, control workload, drive performance and make decisions when things don't go to plan..

You will be responsible for ensuring customer orders leave the operation accurately, on time and to the required standard.

You will lead the outbound team, manage priorities, deal with issues quickly and make sure agreed actions are followed through.

When there is pressure, you step up.

When something isn't working, you fix it.

When the team needs direction, you provide it.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take full ownership of the day-to-day outbound operation.
  • Lead, motivate and manage the outbound team to achieve daily targets.
  • Plan and allocate workloads to ensure all orders are processed and dispatched on time.
  • Monitor productivity, accuracy, service levels and team performance.
  • Make sure customer orders are picked, checked, packed and dispatched correctly.
  • Prioritise urgent and time-critical orders and ensure the team understands what needs to happen.
  • Monitor the operation throughout the shift and react quickly to changing priorities.
  • Identify bottlenecks, delays and operational issues and take immediate corrective action.
  • Ensure all outbound processes are followed consistently.
  • Investigate errors and put preventative actions in place.
  • Work closely with warehouse, inventory, transport and other operational teams to ensure a smooth flow of orders.
  • Maintain a safe, clean and organised working environment.
  • Coach team members, address poor performance and recognise strong performance.
  • Make sure actions are completed rather than simply discussed.
  • Continuously look for ways to improve efficiency, accuracy and customer service.

What We're Looking For

We are looking for someone who has real operational presence.

You will ideally have experience supervising an outbound, warehouse, logistics, distribution or fulfilment operation.

You will have

  • Proven experience leading a warehouse or outbound team.
  • Strong understanding of outbound processes, order fulfilment and dispatch.
  • Experience working to daily targets and deadlines.
  • The confidence to make decisions and take ownership.
  • Strong people-management and leadership skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • The ability to prioritise when there are multiple demands competing for attention.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
  • Good communication skills at all levels.
  • The ability to deal with performance issues directly and professionally.
  • A practical, hands-on approach to problem solving.
  • A genuine “make it happen” attitude.
  • The Person

We're looking for someone who takes control of the operation.

You won't wait for someone else to tell you there is a problem.

You'll see it.

You'll understand it.

And you'll do something about it.

You will be the person who knows what needs to leave, what is holding the operation up, where the team needs support and what needs to happen next.

You will lead from the front and set the standard for the team.

If performance drops, you address it.

If an order is at risk, you act.

If a process isn't working, you challenge it.

If someone needs support, you give it.

And if you commit to getting something done, you make sure it gets done.

What Success Looks Like

Success in this role means

Orders leave on time.

Accuracy remains high.

The team knows exactly what is expected.

Problems are identified early and dealt with quickly.

Performance is visible and managed.

People are held accountable.

Customers receive the service they expect.

Improvements are implemented rather than simply talked about.

The Opportunity

This is an opportunity for an experienced warehouse or logistics professional to take genuine ownership of an important part of the operation.

We want someone who wants to lead people, improve performance and make a visible difference.

If you're the type of person who sees a problem and thinks “I'll sort that”, rather than “someone should deal with that”, we want to hear from you.

Lead the team. Own the operation. Make it happen.

Apply now with your CV and tell us why you're the right person to lead our outbound operation
