An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Building Surveyor to join a well-established public sector property team delivering essential works across a large and diverse education portfolio.
Working within a highly regarded Corporate Landlord function, you will play a key role in managing building repair, maintenance, refurbishment, and compliance projects across schools and educational facilities throughout Bristol. This is an ideal role for a commercially aware Building Surveyor looking to work on meaningful projects that directly support local communities and educational environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and deliver planned and reactive building works across educational assets
- Undertake condition surveys, inspections, and asset assessments
- Oversee maintenance programmes, project budgets, and contractor performance
- Ensure compliance with statutory regulations, CDM requirements, and health & safety standards
- Act as Client Representative, Designer, and Planning Supervisor where required
- Support Hard FM and asset management functions using systems including NEC4, SFG20, JobLogic, FastDraft, and Concerto
- Provide technical advice and consultancy support to internal stakeholders and service departments
Candidate Requirements
- Qualification suitable for Corporate Membership of CIOB or equivalent professional body
- Proven experience delivering building repair, maintenance, and refurbishment projects
- Strong knowledge of NEC contracts, CDM regulations, and financial/project management
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Experience within public sector, local authority, or education environments advantageous
- Full UK driving licence required

- NEC4 contract administration
- SFG20 planned maintenance standards
- FastDraft, Concerto, JobLogic, and CAD software
- Public sector governance and compliance processes
