Being a part of a great Finance team, the management accountant or Assistant will be involved with preparing, scrutinising, managing and analysing financial data that helps the business make great decisions. The role incorporates recurring and ad-hoc tasks to maintain the financial records of the company as well as ensuring compliance with all relevant financial governance and regulations, as well as internal policies and processes.

Whilst there are regular, routine tasks and processes to complete, the nature of our business is such that for the right person there may be opportunities to be involved in projects that expand the scope of your role, your understanding of the manufacturing and supply chain processes, and encourage your further development. This position will be a 15 month contract (Maternity cover).

Main Duties:
  • Maintain and analyse daily, weekly, and monthly KPI data, and report to senior management.
  • Involvement in month end management accounts, including variance analysis, commentary, and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Responsible for credit control processes: maintain and monitor customer accounts, analyse revenue risks, prepare overdue debt reports.
  • Payroll - UK and Overseas: running of monthly outsourced payroll, dealing with payroll queries and ensuring HMRC compliance.
  • Prepare and file monthly VAT returns & ensure VAT compliance.
  • Maintenance of fixed asset register, review capital expenditure approvals and lead quarterly fixed asset reviews.
  • Calculation of payment/invoicing in line with exchange rate sharing agreements.
  • Calculation and payment of Commissions in line with agreements.
  • Support forecasting and budgeting processes.
  • Support the business looking after the online expenses system - be the key point of contact.
  • Support year end accounts process and statutory audit.
  • Completion of Office for National Statistics returns.
  • Other ad hoc duties or cover as required.
Education/Experience required:
  • A level Maths or NVQ equivalent.
  • Recognised Professional Accountancy Qualification (or close to completing).
  • Minimum AAT qualified.
  • Microsoft Excel: intermediate (vlookup, pivot tables etc).
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
