We are looking for a practical
NPI and Technical Engineer to manage projects from initial customer enquiry through to manufacture.
The role involves liaising directly with customers, preparing quotations, producing manufacturing drawings, and supporting production to ensure successful delivery.
- The ideal candidate will have experience using
- Solid Works
- (preferred) or
Auto CAD as a minimum.
Experience within a manufacturing environment is essential, with sheet metal fabrication preferred.
Knowledge of CNC machining and programming would be advantageous, but not essential.
Key
Responsibilities: Customer & Quoting Liaise with customers from initial enquiry through to quotation.
Review drawings and specifications to determine manufacturing methods and costs.
Prepare accurate quotations, including materials, subcontract processes and tooling.
Advise customers on design improvements and cost-effective manufacturing solutions.
Follow up quotations and respond to customer queries.
Design & Manufacturing Produce 3D models, manufacturing drawings and DXF files using Solid Works (or Auto CAD where applicable).
Prepare production-ready documentation.
Update existing drawings and quotations as required Production Support Work closely with the shop floor to resolve manufacturing issues.
Be prepared to take a hands-on approach when required.
Support new product introduction and ensure production documentation is accurate.
Identify opportunities to improve manufacturing processes and product design.
Health, Safety & Quality Work in accordance with company quality and health & safety procedures.
Promote safe working practices and support continuous improvement across the business.
Skills & Experience Essential Experience in a manufacturing environment (sheet metal fabrication preferred).
Solid Works experience preferred; Auto CAD experience as a minimum.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
Good understanding of manufacturing processes.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
Organised, methodical and able to manage multiple projects.
Desirable CNC machining or CNC programming experience.
Experience with quoting and estimating.
Knowledge of CAD/CAM software.
Experience supporting production and problem-solving on the shop floor.
