Are you an experienced fire safety professional looking for a role where your expertise will genuinely make a difference? We are supporting a highly respected housing organisation to appoint a Fire Safety Manager, a key leadership position responsible for shaping and delivering fire safety compliance across a large residential property portfolio.
This is an opportunity to take ownership of a critical safety function, providing professional leadership, assurance and direction across fire risk management, remediation programmes, fire doors, passive fire protection and resident safety.
Working closely with senior leaders, operational teams, contractors and external stakeholders, you will play a central role in ensuring that fire safety risks are identified, managed and continuously improved; helping to keep residents safe in their homes.
The role:
- Lead the organisations fire safety strategy, governance and assurance framework
- Act as the lead competent fire safety professional, providing expert advice and challenge
- Oversee fire risk assessment programmes, remedial actions and compliance improvement plans
- Drive delivery of fire door, compartmentation and passive fire protection programmes
- Provide clear reporting and assurance to senior leadership and governance forums
- Support incident investigations, enforcement responses and continuous learning
- Lead and develop a specialist fire safety team
- Build strong relationships with residents, contractors, regulators and internal stakeholders
About you:
You will be an experienced fire safety professional with a strong background in residential environments, ideally within social housing, local authority housing or a similarly complex setting.
Youll bring:
- Significant experience managing fire safety compliance across occupied residential buildings
- Strong knowledge of fire safety legislation, including the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order, Fire Safety Act, Fire Safety (England) Regulations and Building Safety Act requirements
- Experience overseeing fire risk assessments, fire door programmes and passive fire protection works
- The confidence to influence senior stakeholders and challenge where necessary
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage residents, contractors and leadership teams
- A practical, risk-based approach with a passion for improving safety standards
- A relevant fire safety qualification (Level 4 or above, or equivalent professional competence) and evidence of continued professional development are essential.
