Key Responsibilities
- Review tender documentation, specifications, drawings, and project requirements.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates and pricing schedules for commercial construction projects.
- Obtain and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations.
- Carry out quantity take-offs and cost analysis.
- Identify risks, opportunities, and value engineering solutions.
- Liaise with clients, consultants, suppliers, and internal teams throughout the tender process.
- Assist in the preparation and submission of tender documents.
- Maintain accurate records of estimates, costs, and pricing data.
- Support project handovers to operational teams upon successful tender awards.
- Monitor market trends, material costs, and labour rates.
Requirements
- Previous experience as an Estimator within the construction industry.
- Strong experience working on commercial property projects.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
- Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and estimating software.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
Desirable
- HNC/HND or Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- Experience pricing refurbishment, fit-out, and new-build commercial projects.
- Knowledge of JCT contracts and construction procurement methods.
