Job Description Overview We are seeking an experienced Solar / O&M Electrician to join a growing renewable energy business operating across Cornwall and the South West.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, operation, maintenance, inspection, testing, fault finding and repair of commercial and utility-scale solar PV systems.
This is an excellent opportunity for an electrician with proven solar experience who is looking to develop their career within the renewable energy sector.
Key Responsibilities Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on solar PV installations.
Diagnose and rectify faults on AC and DC electrical systems.
Perform installs, inspections, testing and verification of electrical installations.
Complete maintenance reports and site documentation.
Monitor system performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
Respond to reactive maintenance call-outs when required.
Ensure all works are completed in accordance with current regulations and company procedures.
Work safely and maintain high standards of health and safety at all times.
Liaise with clients, site managers and internal teams to ensure efficient project delivery.
Essential Requirements ~ NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent. ~18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671). ~ Proven experience working on solar PV systems. ~ Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills. ~ Full UK Driving Licence. ~ Ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively.
Desirable Qualifications & Experience City & Guilds 2391 Inspection & Testing.
AM2 Qualification.
Solar PV installation or maintenance qualifications.
Experience working on commercial or utility-scale solar farms.
Knowledge of inverters, monitoring platforms and battery storage systems.
