Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Gas Engineer to join our team across Leicestershire, Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire.
The successful candidate holds full ACS and will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing gas systems across various settings, ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations.
This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong mechanical background and practical skills in plumbing, welding, and the use of hand and power tools.
The position requires physical dexterity, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety.
All roles are paid positions, including internships.
Responsibilities Install, service, and repair gas appliances and systems in residential environments.
Conduct safety inspections and ensure all work complies with current regulations and standards.
Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other specialised machinery to complete tasks efficiently.
Perform plumbing tasks related to gas systems, including pipe fitting and leak detection.
Carry out basic carpentry work as needed for installation or repair purposes.
Assist with heavy lifting of equipment or materials to facilitate safe handling of large components.
Maintain accurate records of work performed and report any issues or safety concerns promptly.
Collaborate with team members to complete projects within designated timeframes while adhering to health and safety protocols.
Experience Proven experience as a Gas Engineer or in a similar role involving gas system installation and maintenance.
Practical knowledge of welding techniques relevant to gas systems.
Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, plumbing fittings, and assembly processes.
Mechanical knowledge related to system components and troubleshooting procedures.
Basic mathematical skills for measurements and calculations during installations or repairs.
Experience with carpentry work for customised fittings or structural adjustments is advantageous.
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently in accordance with health & safety guidelines.
Valid commercial driving licence is desirable for transportation between sites.
Candidates should demonstrate strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining high safety standards in all aspects of their work
