Our client, which is part of a successful, global manufacturing organisation, now requires a Managing Director to join their operation, to be responsible for maximising the value, revenue and margin of this successful manufacturing business. You will be required to support the company in further developing its position as a leading provider of its product portfolio across the UK as well as embracing inter-group products which could be added-value sales opportunities.

The Role:
As the Managing Director, you will be responsible for developing strategy and direction within the business, overseeing sales, realising full business potential, service and production activities, achieving financial targets aligned to wider divisional and Group goals. The role will be responsible for but not limited to:
- strengthening and further developing business within domestic and international markets
- creating and implementing effectively business strategy and policy to focus on indicators such as sales, margin, order intake, markets and products development, production efficiency, EBIT and ROS
- executing the sales policy
- managing and developing an effective team
- supervising budget, cost control and optimisation processes and overseeing operations activities to improve KPIs
- optimising business unit processes, areas for improvement and effective implementation of activities
- preparing management reporting and actively participating in building strategy for the business closely cooperating with other group companies in the region and cooperating effectively with the regional management
As the Managing Director, you will be required to operate at a strategic level in order to devise, implement and influence at all levels throughout the business.
The Candidate:
Ideally of graduate standard, or higher, candidates for the Managing Director role will also preferably have experience of working within an engineering, manufacturing or commercial / technical based environment. In addition, candidates for the Managing Director role will also be required to demonstrate that they have:
- previous experience of working in a senior management / managing director role with an operations, ideally within a complex or multi-national organisation
- practical knowledge and experience in projects / project business
- a highly motivated and results driven, with a proven track record of delivering successful business growth
- strong project management and advanced negotiation skills
- a strong customer focus and outstanding organisational skills
- a good working knowledge of MS Office applications
- excellent presentation, reporting and sales data analysis skills
- successful experience of leading teams
Candidates for the Managing Director role should also have:
- proven stakeholder engagement abilities with strategic thinking skills
- excellent communication skills and the ability to be flexible in a challenging environment
- the capability to be a hands-on type individual, who demonstrates initiative with a positive and professional outlook
- the ability to work effectively within a team but also under their own initiative, demonstrating that they are an organised and capable individual, used to multi-tasking and can prioritise their workload in order to meet exacting deadlines
- the ability to be commercially astute, analytical and results driven with a strong commitment to success and excellence
- the capacity to be a strong, capable leader, with the presence to motivate and influence across all levels of the business
