Are you an Accounts Senior / Business Services Senior / General practice Senior, from an accountancy practice background looking for a senior role that will grow into a management position within the near future? Are you looking to work for a boutique practice in London which has a broad array of clients from various creative industries.
Your role will be in a truly general practice environment with exposure to all the following areas:
- Preparing and reviewing financial statements for clients including Statutory Accounts, management accounts and income and expenditure accounts
- Maintaining accounting records on bookkeeping software including Xero and QuickBooks
- Preparing and reviewing Self-Assessment Tax Returns, as well as Corporation Tax Returns
- Reviewing monthly payroll
- Preparing and reviewing VAT returns.
- Ad hoc tax planning and advisory work
- Assisting the director with more technical work and developing into said managerial role
- Management of the portfolio of clients of fee income over £200k
- Managing junior accountants and bookkeepers
The firm will also allow flexible working, including working from home (based on agreed conditions). A very strong emphasis is put on the advisory side of accountancy and you will be expected to provide value added advice to your clients on a regular basis. Your client base will be varied and include an impressive array of SME sized businesses, all from the creative sectors. The firm uses CCH for accounts preparation as well as Xero, Quickbooks and Sage for bookkeeping and payroll.
To be considered for this new role you must be an Accounts Senior with experience of reviewing junior members work and ready to make the step up to a managerial role in the near future; with a minimum of 3 years experience (ideally 5+ years) in a good quality practice firm. You must be either ACCA / ACA qualified. You must have experience preparing statutory accounts from start to finish, as well as preparing corporation tax returns. Experience of dealing with personal tax, tax advisory and VAT returns would also be required. You must be a team player and be able to work in a small sized firm in a hands on role. Experience of a range of software packages would be an advantage particularly CCH, Xero, Sage50 and Quickbooks.
