As a Commercial Funding Manager you’ll be fully immersed with our experienced Funding Solutions team, which is responsible for sourcing new funding or refinancing existing facilities, ensuring alignment with the owners' and management teams' goals and strategies.
It’s a great opportunity for an individual based near our Manchester, Liverpool or Stoke office to develop and progress within a forward-thinking and fast-paced team. You’ll:
- Engage with clients to understand their needs and objectives, then approach the market to source, structure, negotiate, and secure approval for a range of facilities, including working capital, commercial property, asset finance, and cash flow finance.
- Develop and maintain a network of funders, understanding their target market and applying this knowledge and understanding to satisfy client needs.
- Evaluate the needs of businesses, meeting these needs with effective funding solutions and clearly communicating these options, allowing decision makers to make informed decisions across a range of funding solutions.
- Be responsible for building relationships and working collaboratively across our network of offices.
- Share your knowledge of the SME funding market by mentoring & stretching the development of others, whilst also investing in opportunities for your own personal development.
- Manage multiple funding processes from start to finish managing client expectations through to a timely completion.
- Ensure compliance with mandatory Risk policies and procedures relating to governance, regulatory compliance operational and legal risk.

Hungry for a new challenge, you’ll:
- Have experience working in an SME Banking environment, maybe as a relationship manager or a business development background.
- Have a passion and strong understanding of business funding.
- Have an ability to assess funding options gained from experience ideally within a banking or similar corporate finance environment.
- Hold the necessary credit skills to analyse businesses and loan requests to identify key issues and develop appropriate solutions.
- Hold strong relationship skills, including the ability to convey and explain information coherently in both oral and written formats.
- Be able to create positive relationships both with external professionals, funders & solicitors.
- Have an ability to challenge management teams to achieve optimum outcomes.
- Be capable of analysing profit and loss, balance sheet and cashflow statements (integrated models) and challenge assumptions ensuring they are fit for funder submission.
- Demonstrate excellent Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Be an ambitious and hard-working self-starter.
- Thrive in a collaborative and progressive environment.
- Love getting to know people with fantastic communication skills.
- Be flexible to travel as required to other offices and/or events.
