Django Girls is recruiting for two roles which could be filled by one person. Each role will be an initial 6-month contract with potential renewal on a rolling basis (depending on available funding). All contractors receive a rate of £20 per hour. The successful candidate must be registered as self‐employed and able to invoice Django Girls monthly.
Django Girls is a non‐profit organization that empowers women to organize free, one‐day programming workshops by providing tools, resources, and support. During each event, 30–60 women build their first web application using HTML, CSS, Python, and Django.
This is a paid, remote position, working a max of 16 hours a month (this may change in the future) handling all the day‐to‐day communication of the organisation.
Responsibilities- Communicate Django Girls impact to the world by managing the organisation's newsletter and social media presence.
- Ensure all communications for Django Girls are consistent in terms of voice, branding, message, and frequency of posting across all digital channels.
- Monitor and engage with Django Girls' social media accounts (currently Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn).
- Manage and contribute to the Django Girls blog (Tumblr).
- Write our monthly newsletter.
- Assist the Fundraising Coordinator with delivering effective campaigns.
- Excellent written English communication skills (Essential).
- Ability to work on own initiative and manage own workload (Essential).
- Good organisational skills (Essential).
- Experience in working with charities (Desirable).
- Experience in working with people internationally (Desirable).
- Experience in working with marginalised groups (Desirable).
