We are looking for a full‑time, permanent Debt Recovery Accounts Assistant for our Accounts & Property Support Team. The role will be based near the city centre in Edinburgh and will involve a standard work week of 35 hours, Monday‑Friday, 9 am‑5 pm. Salary ranges from £23,500 to £24,000.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the day‑to‑day financial operations for our letting business, ensuring all rent payments are collected and paid to clients.
  • Oversee various property support processes and coordinate activities throughout the office.
  • Lead the debt recovery process, communicating with tenants in rent arrears via telephone, email and written correspondence.
  • Maintain accurate case records in the system and liaise with landlords and tenants to agree payment plans or next actions.
  • Prepare reporting for Team Managers and Department Heads, highlighting cases based on tenant responses.
  • Arrange weekly review meetings to discuss next steps in outstanding cases.
  • Coordinate doorstep visits with Property Managers to discuss arrears with tenants.
  • Raise cases with the Housing & Property Chamber First‑tier Tribunal for Scotland and attend case‑management discussions where required.

Qualifications

  • Experience in property service or customer service roles.
  • Experience in debt recovery.
  • Strong verbal and non‑verbal communication skills.
  • Proven customer‑service abilities.
  • Excellent organisational and problem‑solving skills.
  • Confidence in relaying information to multiple stakeholders.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritise workloads.
  • Calm under pressure and ability to manage stressful situations.
