A precision aerospace components manufacturer in the Sleaford area is seeking an experienced General Manager to lead all aspects of a growing manufacturing operation specializing in complex tube and manifold assemblies for the aerospace and defense industry. This is a high-impact leadership role with full operational and financial responsibility for a 75-person facility. The successful candidate will be a hands-on leader with a strong background in CNC machining, complex manufacturing operations, and aerospace supply chain management.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all plant operations with full P&L responsibility
- Manage and develop a leadership team across Sales, Manufacturing, Engineering, Planning, and Supply Chain
- Drive operational performance in safety, quality, delivery, and profitability
- Maintain key customer relationships and serve as the primary customer-facing leader
- Oversee production planning, MRP, scheduling, purchasing, inventory, and outside processing activities
- Improve operational efficiency through continuous improvement initiatives and strong performance management
- Ensure successful execution of long-term aerospace contracts while meeting customer delivery and quality expectations
- Partner with senior leadership to develop and execute strategic business objectives
Qualifications
- Proven General Manager, Operations Manager, or Plant Manager experience within aerospace or precision manufacturing
- Strong background in CNC machining and multi-level BOM assembly environments
- Experience managing MRP systems, production scheduling, purchasing, inventory, and subcontract manufacturing processes
- Demonstrated P&L and balance sheet management experience
- Knowledge of long-term aerospace agreements and customer requirements
- Strong leadership, communication, and team development skills
- Results-oriented leader with a hands-on management style
