The role is accountable for the online performance of the Currys’ Computing & Gaming category. The role will maximise the online commercial performance of this range using a variety of data sources including web analytics data on traffic, conversion and order value to drive insights, actions and measurable improvements. The role will work closely with commercial squads, marketing and other ecommerce colleagues to drive the category performance in line with the strategy. The role will represent eCommerce in relevant internal and external meetings and will influence and challenge key senior stakeholders through actionable insight to drive improvements to online metrics. The role will also develop deep knowledge of the operational nuances of the range, and take part in coordinating improvements to the online customer experience by working closely with ecommerce and commercial colleagues.

Role overview:

  • Responsible for delivering growth vs budget and market share growth.
  • Responsible for reviewing and reforecasting online sales, highlighting risks & opportunities.
  • Responsible for sharing insight to help key stakeholders understand online performance and shape the strategy based on this. These include, but are not limited to, traffic, conversion and AOV.
  • Managing the Assistant Trading Manager & helping to develop their talent/skill set.
  • Manage the planning, execution and subsequent performance of all things digital relating to the category, particularly promotions.
  • Working closely with merchandising, design and digital marketing teams to deliver right first time execution.
  • Engage with the traffic acquisition teams to ensure quantity and quality of traffic are optimized.
  • Develop deep knowledge of the operational context of the range.
  • Collaborate with the product and UX teams to deliver improvements that maximise the online customer experience, NPS and, ultimately, trading performance, for your category.
  • Support the wider trading team as required, attending meetings, taking on additional ad hoc projects in line with the needs of the business.

  • Strong commercial acumen and ability to exploit data; creating insights and transforming them into action.
