At Currys we’re united by one passion: to help everyone enjoy amazing technology. As the UK’s best-known retailer of tech, we’re proud of the service our customers receive – and it’s all down to our team of 25,000 caring and committed colleagues. Working as one team, we learn and grow together, celebrating the big and small moments that make every day amazing.
Currys is in the middle of one of the most ambitious AI and automation shifts in UK retail. We are rethinking how customers discover and buy technology, how stores operate, how supply chains move, and how colleagues do their best work. We’re reshaping how the business trades, plans and serves. The AI & Monetisation function is where the boldest bets get placed.
The squad you join is greenfield, built around a real business domain, and backed by senior sponsorship. You will own that domain end to end, set the roadmap with the stakeholders who run it, and ship products that move the numbers in the P&L. These problems are genuinely hard: optimising stock availability, automating complex operating processes, putting useful AI into the hands of frontline colleagues, and monetising the audience and data we already have. You will be a change agent in a business moving fast and willing to back people who can move with it.
The teams you’ll work with:
- You will partner closely with engineers to bring your products to life.
- You will work with colleagues across Technology, Finance, People, Retail, Commercial, and Services to identify opportunities, rapidly prototype and then productionise solutions.
- You will also engage with the IT Operations, InfoSec and Enablement teams on shared infrastructure, AI capabilities, and governance, to safeguard customers and colleagues.
- You’ll influence stakeholders at every level from frontline teams to senior leadership.
Role overview:
You’ll build products with a modern data and AI stack: Claude Code, Databricks, dbt, and Omni. Additionally, you’ll need to:
- Own the product roadmap for your squad, balancing stakeholder needs against technical feasibility and platform dependencies.
- Lead rapid prototyping and discovery work to identify high-value opportunities, validating them through user research, stakeholder discussions, and data exploration.
- Write clear product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria that Data Engineers and Analytics Engineers can deliver against.
- Define and track metrics that measure whether your products are creating business impact, not just being delivered.
- Run agile ceremonies, and quarterly OKR setting for your squad so that the team is aligned and understands what success looks like.
- Coordinate sprint demos and roadmap readouts, communicating progress and trade-offs to stakeholders in language they understand.
- Work closely with your Engineers on source ingestion, pipeline design, data modelling and data quality.
What you'll bring:
- 3-5 years of experience in technical product management, working with data and analytics products, and LLM / ML solutions.
- Demonstrated comfort working directly with engineers: You do not need to write production code, but you need to hold your own in technical conversations.
- Extensive experience using AI tools to automate and improve your own workflows, and a point of view on how AI can improve the products you build.
- Experience with agile delivery in cross-functional squads, including backlog management, sprint ceremonies, and OKR frameworks.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to translate between business language and technical language, and to push back constructively when priorities conflict.
- Familiarity with modern data stack concepts: medallion architecture, dimensional modelling, data lakes, semantic layers, or equivalent.
The essentials:
- Degree in a technical or business field, or equivalent experience.
- You’re a product builder, you default to building POCs and Prototypes rather than relying on others.
- You cultivate meaningful relationships with your stakeholders, lead with empathy and foster a culture of collaboration with your peers.
