The Senior Social Media Manager will take on the responsibility of owning the organic social strategy across TikTok, Instagram, X, Facebook & YouTube (plus new growth channels), with the goal of elevating us to new heights & delivering real step-change growth. This role will sit under the Head of Social & PR at Currys and will share responsibilities on strategy, budgets & day-to-day, but will have lots of autonomy.

Role overview

  • Leading on executing the organic Social strategy at Currys – across TikTok, Instagram, Facebook & X, alongside any new channels we may venture into (e.g. YouTube)
  • Managing our amazing in-house team (4 people) – putting growth, development & job satisfaction first
  • Managing our 2 external agencies, with a particular focus on day-to-day & campaign
  • Days will vary, as is the nature of Social, with some being heavily focused on creative & execution, with others involving presenting to senior stakeholders & taking people on your journey for how Social should look for Currys
  • Managing several channels & projects across Social, ensuring the overall smooth running of each – some projects will be owned by yourself, with others owned by a member of the team & overseen by yourself
  • Liaising with other stakeholders within the business, with the Planning teams, senior management, stores & PR team the most regular contact
  • Semi-regular, ad-hoc travel to stores & other shoot locations at short notice, to ensure we’re being as reactive as we need to be with our content
  • Managing the Social budget for the year, as well as budget from suppliers that comes in through additional activity requests

You will need:

  • Experience managing organic social media strategy for a brand or agency
  • Experience creating high-performing organic video & static content for brands (TikTok, Instagram, X, Facebook & YouTube)
  • Demonstrable evidence of transformation success within a brand or agency e.g. exponential growth in followers or engagement, new channel launch & success
  • Experience managing & developing a team, ideally within social space
  • Experience managing agencies, budgets and having to make choices between spend options
  • Strong communication skills – able to present to & persuade senior stakeholders on vision, with an ability to unlock more funding for an area
  • Can-do attitude – the world of Social is fast-paced and ever-changing, so you need to be able to problem solve & find solutions to producing & executing content
  • Strong relationship-building & people skills
