When new reporting requirements land, you’ll work with legal and compliance colleagues to understand what they mean in practice and work with the business to support implementation. You’ll also build relationships with external bodies and rating agencies, making sure our data submissions are accurate and submitted on time.
Role overview:
- Review external sustainability reports and regulatory guidance to identify best practice and build a reference library that keeps our disclosures compliant and improving.
- Work with teams across the business to gather accurate sustainability data and information, asking the right questions and working with the business to resolve any gaps so we can report with confidence.
- Support the development, rollout and operation of an internal controls framework for sustainability reporting, including documenting processes, risks, and controls.
- Advise on and test data quality and controls, making sure our reporting meets mandatory requirements.
- Draft clear, accurate sustainability disclosures for external reporting that meet regulatory standards and reflect best practice.
- Track KPIs and support regular reporting for internal stakeholders, keeping everyone informed on performance.
- Support continuous improvement of sustainability data management systems and support implementation of CSRD reporting software tool(s).
- Work with internal and external auditors to get assurance over our sustainability data and information and help complete any remediation actions.
You will need:
- Good working knowledge of sustainability concepts and ESG principles, including reporting frameworks and requirements like CSRD, EU Taxonomy and ISSB – and a real appetite to keep learning.
- A background in audit, risk, or assurance – or foundational knowledge of how these processes work.
- Strong attention to detail and the organisational skills to manage multiple workstreams and deadlines, keeping everything moving at once.
- Confidence working with data – including solid Excel skills and the analytical thinking to spot inconsistencies and ask the right questions.
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach that sees things through from start to finish and delivers work you can be proud of.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills that make complex information easy to understand.
- The ability to build effective working relationships with a wide range of internal and external partners.
- Significant experience in a sustainability, ESG, or related reporting role within a large, listed, or global organisation.
- Solid working knowledge of sustainability reporting guidelines, regulations, and assurance processes, with evidence of ongoing professional development.
