Working as one team, we learn and grow together, celebrating the big and small moments that make every day amazing.
The Role of the Customer Insights & Measurement Lead is to define and own the measurement frameworks that give Currys a clear, trusted view of customer lifetime value, marketing effectiveness and the levers that drive long-term customer relationships. You will work with a team of engineers to build governed, reusable metrics that power segmentation strategy, data activation and journey orchestration across every market we operate in.
Role overview:
- Defining and implementing measures for customer lifetime value, retention, acquisition cost, marketing ROI and leading indicators of churn risk
- Working with a team of engineers that build semantic models, measures and governance‑ready definitions to support consistent reporting across markets
- Partnering with Marketing, CRM and Commercial stakeholders to translate business questions into clear reporting requirements and practical, actionable insight
- Building the measurement foundation for modern customer marketing – enabling segmentation strategy, campaign attribution, channel performance and next‑best‑action decisioning
- Providing the metrics and audience definitions that underpin data activation, ensuring curated measures flow through tools like Hightouch into marketing platforms and personalisation engines
- Supporting the measurement of journey orchestration effectiveness – helping the business understand how customers move through lifecycle stages and where interventions have the greatest impact
- Shaping how the team uses our modern data stack – including Databricks, dbt, Omni and Hightouch – to deliver trusted, well‑governed metrics from transformation through to reporting and activation
- Establishing testing, monitoring and documentation standards so that marketing and customer metrics are trusted, transparent and self‑serve ready
You’ll work closely with the wider Data & Analytics function and the Marketing team, collaborating with engineers, analysts and MarTech specialists to deliver trusted, production‑grade metrics. Your work will underpin how Currys measures customer value, optimises segmentation and activation strategies, and evaluates the performance of journey orchestration across channels.
Required Skills & Experience:
- A degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics or a related field – or equivalent professional experience
- Strong experience building governed measurement frameworks, semantic models and consistent metric definitions at scale
- Proficiency in SQL and a good understanding of how transformation tools like dbt are used to create reliable, well‑tested data models
- Comfort working within a modern data stack – our environment includes Databricks, dbt, Omni and Hightouch, though direct experience with each isn’t essential
- Proven ability to lead and develop a small engineering team, setting standards for quality, documentation and delivery
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate between technical and non‑technical audiences
- Experience defining customer lifetime value models, marketing attribution or campaign measurement frameworks is highly desirable
- Understanding of how metrics feed into reporting, activation and journey orchestration – including familiarity with semantic layers, reverse ETL or customer data platforms – is a plus
- Exposure to predictive analytics, propensity modelling or next‑best‑action techniques is beneficial
