As an Assistant Buyer in our Essentials team, you will support our Senior Buyer across a wide range of exciting products including PC, Tablet, Apple, Imaging, Whites & TV Accessories as well as working on our growing range of Impulse product. In this role you will interact with many major suppliers including Sandisk, Samsung, Logitech, HP, Microsoft, Duracell, Energizer, One For All and more. To support your development, you’ll have the opportunity to complete a Level 4 apprenticeship in Buying & Merchandising! You'll be able to start your apprenticeship after 3 months of joining the team (subject to eligibility).
Key Responsibilities
- Helping to manage supplier relationships in line with the category strategy
- Selecting and negotiating product ranges and pricing
- Keeping tabs on the competition so we can set competitive prices
- Analysing trading performance and recommending actions to drive our business forward
You will need:
- Similar experience of being part of a buying function or a great working knowledge of Computing
- Excellent communication and relationship building skills
- To be organised, analytical and numerate with good judgment
- Strong commercial awareness and a sense of customer needs
- Proficiency in Excel
