At Currys we’re united by one passion: to help everyone enjoy amazing technology. As the UK’s best-known retailer of tech, we’re proud of the service our customers receive – and it’s all down to our team of 25,000 caring and committed colleagues. Working as one team, we learn and grow together, celebrating the big and small moments that make every day amazing.
We are looking for an experienced and driven Agile Delivery Manager to join our Engineering function and play a critical role in how we deliver technology across Currys. This is a hands‑on role that sits at the heart of how we plan, govern and continuously improve engineering delivery across complex, multi‑team programmes. The Agile Delivery Manager (ADM) is responsible for establishing and evolving our agile delivery practice – creating and maintaining the frameworks, tooling and disciplines that make delivery predictable, transparent and scalable. Working across internal teams and partner organisations, the ADM ensures that our engineering function operates consistently and that delivery is always data‑led.
Role overview:
- Design and implement a consistent, scalable agile delivery framework across all engineering programmes and delivery partners.
- Set up and maintain governance, assurance, tooling, estimation and monitoring processes that are repeatable and pattern-based.
- Own the end‑to‑end delivery lifecycle – from ideation through to post‑go‑live support – ensuring it is well‑defined, documented and consistently applied.
Data‑Led Delivery & Reporting
- Create transparent, data‑led planning and estimation processes that give all stakeholders a clear, accurate view of delivery status.
- Drive consistent dashboarding and reporting across all programmes – data trumps opinion.
- Provide insight into past and future delivery performance, surfacing risks and issues with clarity and in a timely manner.
Coaching & Continuous Improvement
- Coach engineering teams, business stakeholders and partner resources in agile best practice – growing capability across the organisation, not just within Engineering.
- Foster a culture of inspection and adaptation; ensure we are continuously improving the things that matter.
- Bring non‑technical teams on the agile journey – breaking down silos and ensuring shared understanding across the business.
Cross‑Team Governance & Partner Management
- Ensure consistent delivery governance and quality assurance across internal squads and external delivery partners.
- Work cross‑functionally with Solution Architecture, Technical Business Analysis and QA to align delivery with programme objectives.
- Hold teams and partners to account – challenge where needed, and escalate clearly when delivery is at risk.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders across Engineering, Delivery, Portfolio, and the wider business.
- Support Product and Project Teams in applying agile approaches effectively from ideation onwards.
Required Skills & Experience:
- 5+ years in an Agile Delivery Manager, Scrum Master or equivalent role, working across multi‑team or multi‑partner programmes.
- Demonstrable experience implementing consistent agile governance, estimation, and reporting frameworks – not just theory.
- Strong ability to work with and influence external delivery partners, holding them to account while maintaining a productive working relationship.
- Comfortable working in a complex, ambiguous environment – able to make pragmatic decisions and drive forward without perfect information.
- Excellent communication skills – clear, direct and confident at all levels, from engineering squad to senior leadership.
- Experience with modern agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, or similar) and an understanding of how to apply them pragmatically.
- Proficient with Atlassian tooling (Jira, Confluence) or equivalent delivery tooling.
- Familiarity with software engineering environments – enough to engage credibly with technical teams and understand delivery risk.
