Position Summary
Swim Lesson instructors are expected to conduct effective, valuable, and long-lasting swimming concepts to the Messiah and greater Central PA communities. Swim lessons are organized as one-on-one private lessons, or a maximum of a 3-to-1 swimmer to instructor ratio. Swim Lesson date/times vary based on instructor availability.
Experience Required
Previous swim lesson instruction is preferred; however, training is available for those interested in the position. Personal swimming background is also accepted as experience for this position.
Experience Preferred
Competitive swimming background and/or Swim Instruction background.
Skills, Characteristics Required For Position
Instructors must be patient, willing to help young children learn water safety and swim skills, be able to think quickly/improvise, and be respectful in communicating to parents and advisers.
Dress Code Requirements
Modest one-piece swim suit for women, swim trunks for men.
Special Working Conditions
Instructors must be willing to enter the water with their students for swim lessons and show them how to do different skills.
