Position Description:

Lifeguards will supervise the pool for various activities, including classes, open pool sessions, and rental groups. Duties include regular testing of pool water, daily maintenance of the pool and surrounding area, and other typical pool duties. Lifeguards may also have the opportunity to instruct swim lessons.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Current lifeguard, first aid, CPR, and AED certifications are required.
  • Red Cross Water Safety Instruction is encouraged but can be trained for those wishing to teach swimming lessons.

  • Ability to maintain composure and respond appropriately in emergencies
  • Desire to maintain knowledge and skills

Dress Code Requirements: Lifeguards should wear a swimsuit and lifeguard t-shirts, with shorts allowed over the bathing suit.

Primary Duties:

  • Constant supervision of the pool to maintain a safe environment.
  • Check chlorine and pH levels according to schedule.
  • Operate pool vacuums 2-3 times per week as directed.
  • Keep the pool deck clean and organize equipment as necessary.
  • Adjust lane lines for various activities.
  • Other duties as assigned by the aquatics director.
  • Maintain consistent and reliable attendance.
