At the heart of this mission sits the Claude Littner Business School (CLBS), a dynamic, professionally accredited school known for its industry connectivity, global reach, and innovative approach to business education. Since opening in 2014, CLBS has earned national acclaim, including being named Times Higher Business School of the Year in 2019.
As the new Dean of the Business School, you will lead the CLBS into its next era of growth, innovation and international influence. The biggest School in the University, this is a strategically important role, and you will be working alongside the University’s senior management team to achieve its corporate ambitions. Reporting to the Pro Vice-Chancellor (Business Development and Partnerships), you will have the autonomy and influence to shape a distinctive business school with an already strong track‑record and reputation.
You will be responsible for creating and leading a vision for education, research, enterprise and global engagement aligned to the University’s overall Impact 2028 strategy. Key objectives will be to expand the school’s industry partnerships with national and international employers, professional bodies and public sector organisations and in growing executive education, professional accreditations as well as expanding its practice‑based research footprint.
The leader of a high‑performing school with over 300 staff and 5,000 students from 18 countries, you will also be values‑driven and a champion of innovation, diversity and student success. The successful candidate will probably be an aspiring Dean and a proven senior academic leader looking to step up into an executive leadership role with full school management responsibilities. With a strong leadership profile in a relevant discipline, you will possess a doctoral qualification (PhD or professional equivalent) and have extensive experience of leading complex teams and delivering organisational success. With deep experience of business and management education you will also have delivered educational innovation, employer engagement and research progression.
