Hours: 36 per week
Shift times: Monday to Thursday 07:30 – 15:45, Friday 07:30 – 12:30 (including an unpaid 30‑minute break).
Responsibilities
- Lead, organise and manage a team of Skilled Roadworkers, Specialists, Semi‑Skilled and Trainee Roadworkers, including subcontractors and agency staff.
- Oversee construction and maintenance services for roads, footways and other works, ensuring a high standard of quality and safety.
- Respond to a wide range of emergency situations, including winter gritting operations.
- Lead by example, undertaking skilled road works tasks and providing on‑site training and development for Trainee Roadworkers.
- Manage occasional overtime and winter maintenance duties to increase earnings.
- Support Roads Operations in maintaining roads to the highest standards.
Qualifications
- Vast experience in a roads environment.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Strong leadership and team‑management skills.
- Capability to train and develop trainee road workers.
