Team Leader (Nights) – Care Homes Citywide (Various Locations)

Salary: £34,452 - £40,501 (pro‑rata for part‑time)

Hours: 36 per week

Social care is a challenging and rewarding career. Our care staff work with some of Edinburgh's most vulnerable residents. Working in Adult Social Care is a way to make a real difference to the lives of adults and is extremely rewarding. Care workers help people to live independent, full and valued lives and maintain their dignity while assisting with personal care such as bathing, dressing, meals and medication.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise all care staff and monitor the care given to our residents.
  • Contribute to the personal needs of each individual resident.
  • Promote a friendly, caring and safe environment.
  • Ensure that residents retain their dignity, choice and individuality.
  • Induct, train and supervise colleagues and junior staff in all aspects of their work in the Home.
  • Write, update and maintain residents' Care Plans.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of an SVQ3 Health and Social Care.
  • Medication administration training.
  • At least one year of experience working in a care setting.
  • Adherence to the SSSC Codes of Practice at all times and obtaining SSSC registration.
  • Confidentiality of information gained during duty.

This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. If an individual has spent a continuous period of three months or more out of the UK in the last five years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required and must be provided. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre‑employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
