Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging music lessons from Early Level to National 4, supporting communication, creativity, confidence and wellbeing.
- Build positive, trusting relationships with learners.
- Work collaboratively as part of a supportive staff team and contribute to wider school life.
- Support learners within a Base Class model, using column classes for Senior Phase learners.
- Contribute to the success of Music as a popular subject choice and attainment of National qualifications.
Qualifications & Experience
- Teaching qualification and experience delivering music in a special/secondary setting.
- Experience working with young people with complex additional needs desirable.
- Strong inclusive values and willingness to learn.
- Ability to work within a small class size model of 6 students.
Other Information
This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. If an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out of the UK in the last 5 years, an overseas criminal record check will be required. Employment is subject to satisfactory outcome of these checks.
