We have an exciting opportunity within the National Technician Development Centre (NTDC) for an experienced administrator who can establish a positive working relationship with stakeholders to make an impact on the sustainability of the technical community within the HE sector. You will join the small but dynamic team at the NTDC. The Centre administrator will ensure the smooth delivery of administration support for the NTDC & HEaTED teams. You will be the first point of contact for customers and will be responsible for delivering a professional service. The role requires delivery of central office activities, including financial processes and be responsible for maintaining and updating NTDC and HEaTED records, databases as well as liaising with HEaTED training providers, together with other office-based processes. The ability to travel to UK higher education institutions for technical events with possible overnight stays is a requirement of this post.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary point of contact for anyone contacting HEaTED or NTDC, providing customers with advice and guidance around NTDC tools as well as HEaTED membership and training courses.
  • Provide support for the administration of surveys for NTDC customers and partners as required.
  • Collect and analyse participant feedback on survey projects and support the Operations manager where appropriate, ensuring that the project's objectives and deliverables are met.
  • Maintain the central office systems to ensure the smooth running of the Centre and the HEaTED administration of training courses, customer queries and booking processes.
  • Take an active role in the development of evaluation and feedback systems to ensure that research projects are being carried out efficiently and effectively to the benefit of the sector.
  • Work with the Marketing & Communications Officer lead to promote and market the Centre and its work, as required.
  • Support other team members in the organisation of a wide range of meetings and events as required. This involves preparing materials and providing information on any associated costs and resource requirements.
  • Take responsibility and coordinate agreed aspects of financial and operational procedures to support the effective running of a small team.
  • Maintain all forms of documentation securely while complying with information and data use regulations.
  • Engage with opportunities to promote the Centre and enhance its reputation, including attending events and conferences.
  • As a member of staff you will be encouraged to make ethical decisions in your role, embedding the University sustainability strategy into your working activities wherever possible.
  • Carry out other duties, commensurate with the grade and remit of the post.

Qualifications

  • Educated to degree level or have equivalent experience – Essential – Assessed at application.

  • Experience of presenting to a range of audiences, in person and virtually – Essential – Assessed at application.
