The Edinburgh City Health & Social Care Partnership (EHSCP) is transforming how Social Work delivers support and services for those impacted by Mental Health and Substance Use.

This role is based in Edinburgh’s Health and Social Care Partnership within the Mental Health and Substance Use service.

Responsibilities

  • Provide line management for a small team of social workers and care coordinators (CCAs), and work closely with health and partner agencies to develop care plans.
  • Support people to remain safe and pursue recovery goals in the community; ensure consistency across the four city areas and provide cover as needed.
  • Develop the service, contributing to service planning and delivery within Mental Health and Substance Use.
  • Operate in a trauma-informed, recovery-focused, and strengths-based social work framework, prioritising person-centred approaches.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Qualified Social Worker with essential knowledge and experience in Mental Health and Substance Use Services, Adult with Incapacity, and Adult Support and Protection; experience with complex cases is essential.
  • Experience in staff management and working within a multidisciplinary team is desirable.
  • Desirable qualifications: MHO (Mental Health Officer), Practice Educator, and ASP (Adult Support and Protection) qualifications.
  • Protected work considerations under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007; PVG Scheme membership or update may be required.

Post-employment checks (Overseas Criminal Record Check if applicable) may be required; final appointment subject to satisfactory checks.
